Remembering George O. Ketterer

George O. Ketterer, formerly of East Rockhill Twp., PA, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Twp., PA. He was 96. He was the husband of Mildred (Beer) Ketterer. The couple had celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on September 15, 2012. Born in Harrow, PA, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Mabel W. (Bleam) Ketterer.
George O. Ketterer, formerly of East Rockhill Twp., PA, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Twp., PA. He was 96. He was the husband of Mildred (Beer) Ketterer. The couple had celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on September 15, 2012. Born in Harrow, PA, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Mabel W. (Bleam) Ketterer. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Ketterer was employed by the Lehigh Valley Farms Dairy, Lansdale, PA, from 1955 until retiring in April 1982. Previously, he worked for the former Royal Pants Factory, Perkasie, PA. He was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kellers Church, PA. Mr. Ketterer loved music and played the accordion. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Carol D. Singer and her husband David A., of Perkasie, PA, and Nancy L. Amspacher and her husband Timothy M., of Souderton, PA; a son, James R. Ketterer and his wife Donna A., of Lansdale, PA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter Ketterer and his wife Marian, of Sellersville, PA, and Alfred Ketterer and his wife Beverly of Carrollton, TX. He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Clarence, Lloyd, Floyd, Raymond, Stanley, Ralph, Norman and Arthur Ketterer, and two sisters, Ethel Lines and Hilda Keller. His Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie (Kellers Church), PA, 18944, where family and friends may call from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above-named address. Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
