Remembering Mildred Beer Ketterer

Mildred Beer Ketterer, a longtime resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2015, at age 94. She was married to George O. Ketterer for 70 years until his death in 2013. Mildred worked for many years at Goldie’s Diner in Dublin, PA, and earlier as a seamstress at Fretz Clothing Co. She was a devoted lifetime member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perkasie, where she volunteered in several church groups and committees. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, cards, and puzzles. She is survived by her three children, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on October 15, 2015, at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Kellers Church Cemetery.
Mildred Beer Ketterer, of West Rockhill Twp. and formerly of East Rockhill Twp., PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 11, 2015. She was 94. She was the wife of 70 years of the late George O. Ketterer until his death on June 30, 2013. Born in Bedminster Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer H. and Pearl A. (Kirkpatrick) Beer. Mrs. Ketterer was employed by the former Goldie's Diner, Dublin, PA, for 22 years until retiring in 1983, first working in the catering department and later in the diner. Previously, she had worked as a seamstress for the former Fretz Clothing Co., Bedminster, PA, for 11 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie (Kellers Church), PA, where she served on the Altar Guild, the JOY Group and the Quilting Group. She also volunteered on the Kitchen Committee, preparing for banquets, weddings, funerals, etc. Mrs. Ketterer enjoyed cooking, baking, vegetable and flower gardening, playing cards, and doing word puzzles, and she was especially fond of sewing. She is survived by two daughters, Carol D. Singer and her husband David A., of Schwenksville, PA, and Nancy L. Amspacher and her husband Timothy M., of Souderton, PA; a son, James R. Ketterer and his wife Donna A., of Lansdale, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Grace Frei, and a brother, J. Willard Beer. Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944. Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
